Makeup pro says every woman should have a complete look
By Collette Emery, My Salon Scoop writerCelebrity makeup artist Marcus Geeter tours the world creating memorable looks for the hottest stars. However, he says, any woman can look beautiful if all she has is 15 minutes.
In the morning, he advises women to "do what you know." Begin with a light coat of foundation, then a simple dusting of powder for a natural finish. Next sweep a smoky tone on the eyelid, apply eyeliner, and a stroke of mascara. Finally, use lots of lip liner, if you have it.
If you're ready to update your color palette, bronzy earth tones are in this year with glossy, sheer or nude lips-lip liner is taking a back seat. For women with dark complexions but rocking blond hair, Geeter recommends using coral, bronze, peach and earth tones.
But all the makeup in the world won't help if your skin isn't in its best condition. Geeter stressed that in the winter, moisturizer is mandatory. Women should apply it on their skin in the morning and at night. Using foundation is important because it guards skin from the elements. Exfoliating twice weekly is a must, and drink water to keep skin hydrated.
To complete the look, Geeter says to remember your hair. This year's winning styles include tons of curls and spikes. If you're ready for a cute cut, go for a shorter pixie. Braids will stay, and bobs will be influenced from the contemporary 1940s.
Geeter said that every woman should have a complete look because it speaks volumes to the world about who you are. "You want to be a person that appears polished, and you want to pull all the elements together which include the hair, the makeup, and the wardrobe."
