Feed dry hair with moisture not protein
Sophia Emmanuel of Crown Worthy (formerly Signature Styles by Sophia) in NYC says that if your hair is sheds excessively in the fall, most likely your hair needs moisture−not protein. Try using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner like Joico Moisture Recovery Shampoo. For deep conditioning, she suggests Joico Moisturizing Styling Treatment Balm. Use protein conditioners only when you experience breakage ( hair shaft breaks off by short strands).

Keep your hair and scalp clean
Patrick Wellington of Wellington Hair Spa in NYC says that the most important tip for healthy hair is to keep the scalp and hair clean. Due to the economy and other factors, many of his clients routinely book appointments for a wash every two weeks. Ideally, the hair should be washed once a week for best results, acording to Wellington.
