Mahogany Hair Revolution

I'm a new customer to Mahogany and I my extensions, color and cut done there last week. My stylist Eboni Berry was very professional and informative. I had previously gotten really BAD extensions but she reassured me she could take care of my needs and she did just that. When I left her chair I had my confidence back and was very satisfied. I was also able to be a model for her salon photoshoot, I attached a couple shots! Thanks Eboni and Mahogany!

This way by far one of the worst salon experiences I have had...while I cannot speak for the part of the salon that works with natural hair, I can speak to the section of the salon that claims to do relaxers and chemical services.

Ebony, who said she was the salon's manager, did not know what to do when styling my short hair. Not only did she not have the necessary equipment (she claims to have left her 1 inch flat iron at home because she didn't realize how short my hair would be...wouldn't you have this on you at all times as a stylist?), she burned my ears more than once while clumsily attempting to curl it.

When trying to trim the back of my head, she had no clue what to do--another hair dresser in the salon had to intervene and show her. At this point I wanted her no where near my head.

I do not understand why, when I spoke to her on the phone, she did not say that she didn't specialize in short hair and saved me time, trouble and money. I promptly went to a nearby beauty supply store to buy a neutralizing shampoo to do another wash in case she did not get all the relaxer when she rinsed.

On top of that, one of the hair stylist brought their kids to the salon, which would be fine except the kids where everywhere, demanding attention and distracting the hair dressers from the tasks at hand. So very unprofessional.

If you decide to go here for a relaxer--go in and really check things out. Worse styling/relaxing experience I have had in my 6 years of getting relaxers.

Keri is wonderful and very professional. her salon is clean and pleasant, she keeps a nice peaceful environment and does whatever she can to make people feel comfortable and welcome. she used the best products on my hair. she is very friendly but also business! i really like her tact. i accidentally gave her the wrong amount of money because i was not paying attention to what i was taking out of my wallet, and too busy talking. she said "did you need change" and i realized the mistake, she did not get ghetto or ignorant, or try to embarrass me. she is always pleasant, all the time.
i would highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants quality service in a peaceful environment.

Not only was I in complete awe when I first visited Mahogany Hair, because the venue was serene and calming to my senses, I was greeted and welcomed with an experience, not just an appointment. Scalp massages are always a true delight , but never introduced to me at any other natural hair salon, from East to West. They'll put you to sleep quicker than a Swedish massage however, its primary use is to stimulate blood flow and prepare the scalp for the treatment" soon to come. Just some knowledge Kari shared, as educating her clients is how she keeps us coming back.
