Hair-nista (noun): A woman who takes as much pride in the health of her coif as its style. She has a thirst for knowledge for getting her hair to grow, lay down smoother, twist up with class, and be still with a certain savoir-faire that unapologetically reflects her personality. A woman who will not let just anyone touch, comb, extend, or manipulate her crowning glory without a clue or a plan to meet her goals.

Welcome Hair-nistas,

Well it’s about time that we had a place to get the scoop about the glorious experience of getting our hair styled. Just think about all those hours in hair salons from Phoenix to Atlanta and from Chicago to New York from the time many of us were children. Whether you work in Hollywood, the home, or the boardroom, many of us seek out hair salons to keep up our image. Every two weeks, six weeks, or in a time of transition for others, we make the pilgrimage to the salon chair.

My Salon Scoop will facilitate a real exchange among sister friends to make smarter decisions to have healthier hair. Those of us who sit in the chairs can and should feel more empowered as clients. Through your constructive feedback, we can raise the collective game of hair salons across the country. We will find ways to highlight those salons that really understand service and catering to the various needs of woman of color. In addition, we will try to bring you the facts while dispelling the myths and highlighting hot trends to meet the hair goals for you and your family.

My Salon Scoop also will provide opportunities for hair salons and stylists to connect with clients in a different way and promote your businesses. You can learn what your clients really think when they leave your salon. In addition, you can tell our community what you wish more clients would know before they sit in your chair.
